A photo of myself grinnnning like an idiot

Hi folks,

I’m Aditya - a spatial data scientist by profession but also an open-data enthusiast and citizen-science advocate. I’ve started this project called ecotrakr with the goal of democratising access to public data about India. It is also an attempt at reclaiming a corner of the internet to preserve my thoughts about the things I care deeply about – environment and society.

I will deep dive into projects from a spatial perspective to uncover topics of environmental and societal change at scale using open data from remote sensing satellites as well as government sources. My years of training as a spatial data scientist has equipped me with the required skills to not only look for patterns behind such changes but also look beyond to the circumstances that affect them. My ethics and natural curiosity compel me to examine topics of cultural and environmental significance from an academic rigor.

The aim is to publish each project as a standalone publication with all its findings, datasets, underlying tools and methods. Every project’s codebase will also be made publically available via GitHub within a reasonable time frame.

While I am open to collaborating with like-minded individuals I am cautious with it given my time commitments elsewhere. Everything I will publish through this domain will remain entirely open-source and free from any corporate or political affiliation. I will never market anything that I myself did not create or find of value in my work.

If anyone finds the works published here of any value please feel free to extend/contribute/adapt it to your domain of interest. If you do find yourself using my work for academic purpose please consider citing the respective work.

Feel free to reach out directly via email or over socials.

Cheers :)
